Indienne

Inspired by an antique palampore design, we re-imagined Akola Stripe by taking the border and mirror imaging it to create a large-scale stripe. The intricate, multicolored pattern makes a statement, whether used as a graphic focal point on an upholstered chair, mitered on a pillow, or as a table covering.

This large-scale, fanciful pattern of stylized florals was inspired by an 1800s textile printed in France. Jacobean prints refer to the English floral textile designs prevalent in the early 17th century, with strong Indian influences.

An elegant, free-flowing pattern of florals and cascading ribbon influenced from an antique textile document from the 1860s. Printed on a white background, the delicate florals either appear bold and vibrant in raspberry and teal or more subdued and subtle in beige and spa blue.

The paisley pattern, thought to be a symbol of life and eternity, dates to the 11th century near Kashmir, India. East India's swirling paisley motif was derived from an antique Indian block print and creates captivating movement.

Inspired by an antique textile, the Chester fabric showcases a floral Batik pattern on a background of textured linen. The Batik technique, prominent in Indonesia in the 19th and 20th centuries, uses wax on an undyed cloth to create intricate patterns. The cloth is dyed, and the intricate pattern remains when the wax is removed.

Adapted from a 1920s block print from the south of France, Mimi is a sweet, dainty print of floral buds with slight variation in placement, giving an organic look to this coordinating wallcovering and fabric.

Using natural fibers as wallcoverings can be traced back 2,000 years ago to Asia. Bethany adds a dash of unexpected whimsy with a simple clover motif printed on the organic raffia.

Alternating wide and narrow stripes with a subtle strié effect is a nod to the loosely crafted nature and texture of Indienne textiles.

Cambridge Stripe is a nod to a 19th century block print fabric from India. This wallcovering maintains the authentic hand-block appeal with variations in hues and a linen-like texture over an ornate stripe with tiny buds bordering the center.

A classic check with a handcrafted twist. Ellastone Check features a large scale check woven with an authentic Ikat technique to incorporate organic dashes. While the check is uniform and consistent, the vertical Ikat dashes are more random in size and placement, showcasing the complexity of a true Ikat.

Charter Stripe embodies the artisanal, organic aesthetic of the Indienne Collection. Adorning the cloth is a detailed embroidery of fine stripes, dashes, arrows and geometrics for a textured and eyecatching woven.
